Patrick was appointed Managing Director of ILIM in 2013. He joined the company in 2006 as Director of Investment Development, responsible for the strategic development of investment solutions for the institutional market.
Prior to joining ILIM, Patrick was a director and professional trustee at Irish Pensions Trust Limited, having previously been a corporate lawyer with Mercer. Patrick is past-Chair of Pensions Europe, past Chair of the Irish Association of Pension Funds, and has previously served as Chairman of the Irish Trustee Forum. A solicitor by profession, he is also an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute and an Associate of the Irish Institute of Pension Managers.
Patrick holds a primary degree in Commerce from University College Dublin.
As Chief Investment Officer, Colm is responsible for the strategy, the people, the systems and the performance of ILIM’s investment processes.
Colm has been directly associated with the growth of ILIM’s passive management business, having originally been instrumental in the establishment of ILIM’s passive fund management capabilities.
Colm is an actuary by profession and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. Prior to joining ILIM, Colm previously held a number of actuarial roles with Irish Life Assurance.
Anthony is a member of the Executive Management team and the Fund Management Executive, holding overall responsibility as Head of the Quantitative Strategies Group. He leads the research and development of ILIM’s quantitative investment strategies and portfolio solutions for the institutional and retail market.
In recent years, Anthony and his team have been responsible for developing ILIM’s range of multi-factor active equity funds and risk management strategies, including the Dynamic Share to Cash and Global Low Volatility Strategies. In addition, his team is responsible for ILIM’s flagship multi-asset fund range (MAPS). He has broad multi-asset experience, having previously worked in senior portfolio management roles within ILIM, where he was responsible for advising clients on asset allocation and liability management decisions.
Prior to joining ILIM, Anthony worked in quantitative research roles for Irish National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) and Pioneer Investment Managers. He holds a primary degree in Economics from Trinity College Dublin and holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.
Sandra is a member of the Executive Management team. Since October 2018, she holds overall responsibility for ILIM’s Wealth and Defined Contribution Corporate Channels. She is also responsible for ILIM's ESG policy and strategy development as well as responsibility for the Client Services Teams. Prior to taking on this position, Sandra held responsibility for ILIM’s International Business and Strategic Partnerships.
Prior to joining ILIM, Sandra was Head of Financial Planning and Pensions with Ireland's leading wealth manager, responsible for the establishment and delivery of financial and investment advice to High Net Worth clients, pension funds and charities. Sandra previously worked in Mercer as an actuarial consultant, working with a range of public sector and multinational clients in relation to their pension arrangements.
Sandra is a graduate in Actuarial Finance and Economics from University College Dublin, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. She is a Council Member of SIF Ireland (part of the European Sustainable Investment Forums) and a member of the Pensions Council of Ireland. The latter was established to advise the Minister for Social Protection on matters of relevance to pensions, with a particular focus on policies to support the sustainability and adequacy of pension provision.
Colin joined ILIM in 2017 to build on Irish Life’s de-risking solutions for investors and also joined our executive management team with responsibility for our institutional distribution business.
Colin has unique experience as an investor and former Chairman of Danske Bank DB pension scheme that pursued an aggressive de-risking strategy which culminated in the largest buy-in transaction in Ireland in 2017. He also introduces an alternative view of potential investment opportunities for Irish pension funds and institutional investors to manage their long-term liability profiles.
Prior to joining ILIM, in his role as Treasurer and Head of Danske Bank Markets in Ireland, Colin was a member of both the Executive Board of Danske Bank in Ireland and the Executive of Danske Bank Markets global business. Colin has over 25 years’ management and execution experience in treasury, capital markets, investment management and investment banking transactions. Colin has a MBA from Smurfit Business School, is a Certified Investment Fund Director, Banking Director and completed the Stanford LEAD program. Colin is a fellow of the Institute of Banking in Ireland and a member of the Certified Investment Fund Director Institute.
Ciara was appointed Head of Strategic Project Developments in July 2019. In this role Ciara is responsible for leading strategic projects and program managing the delivery of ILIM’s overall strategic plan.
Ciara has over 25 years’ experience in ILIM and has worked in various roles across the company; from Finance to Compliance to Client Relationship. In 2012 Ciara was appointed Head of Operations and Finance. In this role she was responsible for all aspects of Investment Operations across ILIM, including providing fund administration and investment accounting services to ILA, and for delivering back office, middle office and finance services to ILIM and Setanta.
Gerry is Director of Operations & IT in ILIM. He has 25 years’ experience in the IT industry and has worked in financial services for over 20 years. Gerry is responsible for middle & back office operations, IT services, technology, systems development and delivery, and digital channels
Prior to joining ILIM in 1998, Gerry held a number of engineering roles in the financial services, telecoms, and software industries. Gerry has a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University.
Donal Woodcock is the Head of Compliance & Business Risk. Donal is the Compliance Officer for ILIM and for Setanta Asset Management, Beresford Funds plc and Summit Asset Managers. Donal has over 30 years experience in the Irish Life Group and has extensive experience in the financial services industry having worked in finance, risk and compliance managerial roles. Donal is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA).
Nicholas joined ILIM in 2001 as a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for all aspects of the Irish Life Assurance relationship. In 2005, Nicholas was appointed to the Institutional Portfolio Management team and in 2012, he was appointed as Head of DB Portfolio Management with responsibility for Client Relationship Management. He has over 23 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having worked for Progressive Life Assurance, Irish Life Assurance and most recently, Irish Life Investment Managers.
He holds a primary degree in Economics and Computer Science from University College Cork, a MSc. in Investment and Treasury from Dublin City University, and a MBA from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business at University College Dublin. In 2017, Nicholas completed the Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance at the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business at University College Dublin and in 2018 completed the Qualified Pension Trustee (QPT) programme at the IIPM.
Brian joined ILIM in 2016 as Head of Investment Solutions. Brian works with ILIM’s Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution corporate clients to deliver investment solutions that meet specific return and risk objectives.
He has 21 years’ experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining ILIM, Brian was a Managing Director at Eos Partners, a New York boutique alternative investment firm, where he was responsible for developing and advising institutions on optimising their alternative investment portfolios. Prior to that, Brian worked for 12 years at alternative investment firm LibertyView Capital (a Lehman Brothers company), where he was responsible for leading North American institutional sales and marketing.
Brian graduated from the Shannon College of Hotel Management with a degree in International Hotel Management.
Padraic is a member of ILIM’s Investment Development team. He is responsible for managing Defined Benefit corporate pension scheme relationships and developing investment solutions for clients, including investment strategy, asset allocation and risk management.
Padraic has 30 years’ experience in pension investment management. Prior to joining ILIM in 2015, he worked for eight years as a senior investment consultant/principal at Mercer, where he provided the full spectrum of investing consulting services to trustees of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension schemes. He also spent 17 years as a senior client portfolio manager with AIB, Ulster Bank and KBC Asset Management. Padraic has been an adjunct third-level lecturer for 14 years, teaching investment management.
Padraic earned a BComm and MBS in Banking and Finance from University College Dublin. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and the CFA UK Certificate in ESG Investing. He is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA), Retirement Planning Advisor (RPA) and Pension Trustee Practitioner (PTP) through LIA Ireland, and is an IIPM Qualified Pension Trustee (QPT).
As part of the Investment Development Management team, Eoin is responsible for leading the Defined Contribution (DC) client relationship team. Under Eoin’s leadership, ILIM is designing and delivering investment solutions to meet the diverse requirements of DC clients in Ireland.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2007, Eoin worked for eight years with Ulster Bank in the treasury and debt capital markets teams.
Eoin graduated from Dublin City University with a Bachelor of Business Studies degree in which he specialised in Finance. In 2003, he completed the M.Sc. in Investment & Treasury from Dublin City University. Eoin also holds the Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) qualification.
Carol joined ILIM in March 2012 as part of ILIM’s Defined Contribution team, with responsibility for working with clients and their advisors to deliver appropriate investment fund choices for DC schemes. She is also responsible for ILIM’s Diversity & Inclusion policy and strategy development as well as sitting on the Irish Life Group D&I Steering Committee. Carol has over 14 years of institutional investment management experience.
A key deliverable for the DC team has been evolving how investment funds are delivered to DC schemes, with a strong focus on downside risk management and a smoother return profile.
Prior to joining ILIM, Carol worked for PIMCO as Head of Consultant Relations in Australia. Before that, she worked with Fidelity Worldwide Investments in London on their institutional sales and marketing team, primarily working with investment consultants, DB and DC pension schemes.
Carol graduated with a B.A. Honours Economics degree followed by an M.A. from Trinity College Dublin. She completed the Investment Management Certificate (UK SIP) in 2004, the Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) qualification in 2013 and Professional Certificate in DC Pension Scheme Trusteeship (PTP) in 2019.
As part of ILIM’s investment development team, Brian is responsible for delivering investment strategies and complementary services that meet the objectives of both occupational pension scheme clients and investment consultants.
Brian has over 15 years’ industry experience. He previously worked with Kleinwort Benson Investors and FBD Investment Services, holding a number of key roles focused on both institutional and private clients.
Brian holds a first-class honours primary degree in Business Studies, an MBS in Management Information and Management Accounting from University College Cork, and is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA).
Louise joined ILIM in 2001 as a Senior Business Development Manager, and assumed responsibility for all aspects of the Irish Life Assurance retail relationship in 2008. In 2013, Louise took on the role of Senior DC Portfolio Manager, assuming responsibility for servicing the investment needs of our institutional DC clients. Louise holds an honours degree in International Commerce from University College Dublin (UCD) and a Master of Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD. More recently, she completed a Diploma in Strategic Marketing in the Irish Management Institute. She also holds the Certificate in Investment Management and the Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
Niall joined ILIM in March 2019 as Head of Fixed Income and has over 30 years’ experience in the financial industry. He is responsible for our active and passive fixed income capabilities and is a member of the asset allocation committee.
Prior to joining ILIM, Niall was Global Head of Fixed Income Portfolio Strategy at State Street Global Advisors. He was responsible for leading a team of experienced investment professionals with operations in Dublin, London, Boston, Bangalore and Singapore. The team represented investment capabilities to clients, spanning indexed and active fixed income, LDI, cash and currency. It also authored thought leadership and was responsible for developing the messaging and marketing collateral that supported a broad range of fixed income investment capabilities.
Prior to taking on this role he was Head of Fixed Income and Cash at State Street Global Advisors Ireland (formerly Bank of Ireland Asset Management), where he had overall responsibility for all actively managed fixed income and money market portfolios, as well as managing the institutional real estate investment team and being a member of the asset allocation committee with joint responsibility for long-only absolute return strategies.
Prior to joining State Street Global Advisors Ireland, Niall was a senior manager at Bank of Ireland's international corporate banking business.
Niall holds a Commerce Degree and a Master’s in Business Studies (first class) from University College Dublin.
Lenny was appointed Fund Management Economist in August 2012 and is a member of the asset allocation committee. Previously, he was responsible for managing the financial and retail sectors in ILIM’s active global equity funds. Lenny has over 25 years’ experience in the financial industry.
Prior to joining ILIM in July 2005, Lenny worked for Zurich, AIB and Aviva Investors in equity research and investment management roles.
Lenny graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College Dublin in 1986, and became an Associate Member of the Institute of Investment Management & Research in 1990.
John is part of the active Fixed Income team in ILIM.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2011, John worked for UBS in London, helping to re-establish a bond trading desk for European asset-backed securities (ABS), and was an executive director within the UBS credit trading department. Before this, he held roles in London at RBS and J.P. Morgan, across both primary and secondary ABS markets. Prior to his work at J.P. Morgan, John worked for Canada Life in Dublin. While working in life assurance, he qualified as an actuary, before moving to London.
John graduated from University College Dublin in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial and Financial studies.
Ronan leads the Research team within the Quantitative Strategies Group, responsible for researching, back-testing and implementing quantitative investment strategies across a variety of asset classes.
Within the equity space, he has led the research agenda which now covers over 100 proprietary factors and developed ILIM’s multi-factor stock selection model. In the area of foreign exchange, he has developed the last two iterations of ILIM’s currency model. Within asset allocation, he has developed the Dynamic Share to Cash model, a core component of ILIM’s multi-asset funds, and more recently a Bond-Cash model for sovereign fixed income strategies. Other research areas include the development and deployment of asset risk models and portfolio optimisation tools.
Prior to joining ILIM, Ronan earned a PhD in Electromagnetic Modelling (TCD), a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics (TCD), and a BSc. in Physics and Applied Mathematics (QUB).
Darragh is Head of ILIM’s Portfolio Solutions team. He is responsible for the overall design and management of Irish Life’s MAPS, Ireland’s fastest growing retail multi-asset solution. Darragh and his team are also responsible for helping our clients, across all distribution platforms, design portfolios congruent with their specific objectives and constraints.
Darragh joined ILIM in 2007 as a Quantitative Analyst within the Quantitative Strategies Group. Prior to joining ILIM, Darragh worked as a research assistant within the College of Business at UCD and taught various courses undergraduate and postgraduate courses. While at ILIM, Darragh has also lectured on a part-time basis at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School to MSc Finance, MSc Quantitative Finance and MSc in Aviation Finance students.
Darragh earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) from University College Dublin in 2000, a master’s degree in Quantitative Finance from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in 2002, and a master’s degree in Statistics (MSc) from UCD in 2013. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.
Donal joined ILIM in 2020 as Head of Strategic Solutions within the Distribution Team. He is a qualified actuary with over 20 years’ experience.
He works with clients to ensure the asset strategies for their pension arrangements are fit for purpose and aligned with their objectives. This includes all elements of journey plans for DB, including how de-risking interacts with future funding, developing dashboard reporting for Trustees and considering the potential impacts of any settlement options such as buy-ins or buy-outs etc. He also ensures his clients’ wider strategic considerations are being met when they look at their investments.
Prior to joining ILIM, Donal was a Director in the Pensions Group in PwC where his clients included many of the largest employers in Ireland. He previously worked in Willis Towers Watson as an actuarial consultant where he acted as a Scheme Actuary for many years, delivering the full range of statutory services to Trustee clients.
He is a regular contributor on pension matters both on national radio and at industry events.
Elaine is part of the Defined Benefit Client Relationship team in ILIM.
Prior to joining ILIM, she spent 14 years with Danske Bank, initially as money market manager of the then National Irish Bank balance sheet, taking responsibility for the bank’s funding and liquidity requirements whilst managing the bank’s interest rate risk. More recently Elaine developed and managed the Fixed Income & derivative sales desk at Danske, dealing mostly with institutional and large multinational corporate clients. In this role, Elaine gained experience working with Irish pension funds offering risk modelling, LDI and sovereign annuity portfolio construction services. Elaine served as a trustee of Danske Bank Hybrid pension scheme. Previously, Elaine also worked for Pfizer corporate treasury, MeesPierson Investor Services and AIB Security Services. Elane earned a master’s in Real Estate from DIT and also studied the MSc. Investment & Treasury at DCU.
As a member of the Quantitative Research team, Paul is responsible for the ongoing identification and refinement of ILIM’s proprietary factor model inputs and multi-factor modelling approach. Since joining ILIM, he has led several research projects, including ESG factor identification.
Paul has over 10 years of investment experience at leading buy-side institutions. Prior to joining ILIM, he worked for Callisto Asset Management, a systematic equity market neutral fund manager, where he was a Senior Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager responsible for the development and oversight of investment strategies.
He also held a quantitative research position at Fidelity International, where he was involved in the development of global equity strategies and was co-lead on the systematic-based optimised and passive fund mandates, which held a combined AUM of c. $3 billion. Before joining Fidelity, Paul spent four years as a senior member of the Quantitative Equity team at Pioneer Investment Management, where he was responsible for alpha strategy development and portfolio management of the Pioneer European Quant Equity fund ($1billion AUM).
Paul has an MSc in Quantitative Finance from University College Dublin, and a BSc in Financial & Actuarial Mathematics from Dublin City University. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) from the CFA Society of the UK
Donal has been a member of the Quantitative Strategies group in ILIM since 2014, working on research and development projects involving the teams systematic investment strategies. He has worked primarily in the equity space, supporting research into the multi-factor and low volatility active equity strategies, leading the project to launch the latter strategy in Emerging Markets in 2017.
Prior to joining ILIM, Donal completed a PhD in Biophysics and an MRes in Modelling Biological Complexity, both at University College London, and studied Physics at undergraduate level in University College Cork.
Ruoxi has worked in ILIM’s Quantitative Strategies Group since June 2015. He is primarily responsible for portfolio modelling as part of the Portfolio Solutions team. This includes simulation, backtesting, research and implementation of modelling methodologies, along with modelling system maintenance.
Prior to joining ILIM, Ruoxi obtained a BSc in both Mechanical Engineering and Mathematical Finance from Xiamen University China over the course of 2010-2014. He graduated with first class honours in MSc Quantitative Finance at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Ireland in 2015.
As a member of the Fund Management Executive, Shane holds overall responsibility for ILIM’s indexation business. Shane is responsible for the evolution and delivery of indexed solutions to ILIM’s international client base.
Shane previously held an actuarial role in Irish Life. He subsequently moved to ILIM to take up a Quantitative Analyst role, where he developed factor models for use in stock selection and country allocation processes. He also held fund management responsibility for equity and country-overlay portfolios. Shane was appointed Head of Indexed Fund Management in 2011.
Shane graduated from University College Dublin with first-class honours in Actuarial & Financial Studies in 1998. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2005. Shane completed a M.Sc. in Economics from Trinity College Dublin in 2011.
Brian is part of the Indexed Fund Management team in ILIM, responsible for managing a range of equity and fixed income indexed funds. Brian joined ILIM in 1992 and worked for a year in external client reporting, followed by nine years in active fund management as a Portfolio Construction Manager. He then spent over three years as Manager of the ILIM IT Business Analyst team, before returning to fund management and joining the Indexed Investment Team in 2007.
Prior to joining ILIM, Brian worked within the Irish Life group in a number of business and accounting roles in retail, corporate business and central financial accounting.
Brian completed his final Association of Chartered Certified Accountants exams in 1991 and the Institute of Investment Management & Research exams in 1995.
Michael is part of the Indexed Fund Management team in ILIM, responsible for a range of indexed equity funds.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2006, he worked for six years on the trading desk in Investment Technology Group Europe.
Michael graduated with an honours degree in Commerce from UCC and holds a master’s degree in Economics from UCC. Michael completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme in 2011.
Peter is part of the Indexed Fund Management team in ILIM, responsible for the management of a range of equity and fixed income indexed funds.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2012, Peter worked in the investments industry for 8 years as a private client fund manager and in investment management audit.
Peter graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2003 with a B.A. Honours Business & Economics degree, qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA) in 2006 and as a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) in 2008. Peter received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2011.
Brian is part of the Indexed Fund Management team, responsible for managing a range of equity and fixed income indexed funds.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2012, Brian spent three years with Johnson & Johnson. Working in the Treasury department, he was primarily responsible for the management of Johnson & Johnson’s internal money market fund.
Brian graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2008 with a B.A. Honours Business & Economics degree and received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2014.
Nicola is part of ILIM’s Indexed Fund Management team, responsible for managing a range of indexed equity funds. She joined ILIM in 1998 and worked for two years as an investment accountant within the finance department, before joining the Indexed Fund Management team in 2000.
Prior to joining ILIM, Nicola worked as an audit manager in practice. Nicola completed her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants exams in 1997.
Eoin is part of the Indexed Fund Management team in ILIM.
Prior to joining ILIM, Eoin trained in KPMG Dublin as a charted account for four years. He also worked in Infrastructure and Debt Advisory in AMP Capital Sydney for over four years until August 2015.
Eoin earned a B.Comm with a specialism in finance from University College Dublin in 2006. While in Australia, Eoin received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
John is part of the Fixed Income Fund Management team, and is the lead portfolio manager on a range of strategies including corporate bonds and ESG emerging market hard currency.”
John previously worked as a fund manager on the Indexed Equity team. John also worked as an analyst on the Portfolio Construction team, responsible for asset allocation and liquidity management for all portfolios, as well as modelling and generating market orders for active equity funds and overlay strategies.
Before joining ILIM in February 2013, John spent three years as a Performance Analyst in Pioneer Investments.
John earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from NUIG and an MSc in Computational Finance from University of Limerick. John is a CFA Charterholder.
Sean is part of the Indexed Fund Management team in ILIM, responsible for the management of a range of equity indexed funds. Sean joined ILIM in January 2016. Prior to joining ILIM, Sean worked for 7 years in Cantor Fitzgerald, in Risk Management and on the Trading Desk.
Sean graduated from University College Dublin in 2008 with a B.SC. Economics and Finance degree. Sean is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and received his CFA Charter in 2016
Ciaran is part of the Indexed Fund Management team in ILIM, responsible for the management of a range of indexed equity funds. Ciaran previously worked as an analyst on the Portfolio Construction team, responsible for asset allocation and liquidity management for all portfolios as well as modelling and generating market orders for all active equity investing funds. Ciaran also worked as a Performance Analyst and in Operations in ILIM.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2006 Ciaran worked for AIB as a securities officer for 3 years.
Ciaran graduated with an honours degree in Electronic Engineering & Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin in 2003. Ciaran completed an M.Sc. in Investments Treasury & Banking in Dublin City University in 2012.
Daire is part of the Indexed Fund Management team in ILIM, responsible for a range of indexed equity funds. Daire previously worked as a Performance Analyst in ILIM responsible for Performance Measurement, Attribution and Appraisal across ILIM’s suite of funds.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2015 Daire worked for State Street for 5 years and Bloomberg for 2 years in fund pricing and market data roles.
Daire graduated from University of Liverpool in 2006 with a B.A. Honours degree in Financial Economics and received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2017.
Martina has overall responsibility for ILIM’s European client relationships, working with our partners and internal stakeholders to ensure that ILIM’s range of services is aligned with and delivered to our clients’ needs.
Prior to her current role, Martina was responsible for establishing and coordinating ILIM’s broader International Business relationships, contributing to the success and growth of the business. Before this she was responsible for managing ILIM’s largest domestic client relationships.
Before joining ILIM in 2004, Martina spent a number of years at DWS/Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and Milan, where she was responsible for U.S. equities trading and FX trading.
Martina holds an honours degree in International Commerce from University College Dublin, and received the CFA Charter in 2004.
Stephen joined ILIM in 2019 as Head of US & Canadian Partnerships. Stephen has over twenty five years of experience working in global investment management across a range of business management, strategic and client facing roles.
Stephen joined ILIM from ICM Limited, a boutique global investment management business. Prior to this, Stephen was a Director at KKR working as part of KKR's Client & Partner Group in Europe. Stephen also worked at Abbey Capital, a Dublin-based hedge fund that is focused on managed futures and global macro strategies. Stephen also spent 13 years working in the United States where he was a Director of Bank of Ireland Asset Management (U.S.) Limited and head of the business development team for North America.
Stephen has a B.A. in Economics from University College Cork and an MBA from Fordham University, New York. Stephen is an Associate of the Society of Investment professionals (ASIP) and a member of the CFA Institute and has a Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors in Ireland.
Peter Haran was appointed to ILIM’s Executive Fund Management group as Head of Alternative Strategies in November 2014. Peter is responsible for the management and development of ILIM’s alternative investment capabilities, including the Multi-Manager Target Return Fund, the Absolute Alpha Fund and the Irish Infrastructure Fund.
Prior to joining ILIM, Peter worked at the National Treasury Management Agency as Head of Investment Strategy for the National Pensions Reserve Fund (NPRF). Prior to his career at the NTMA, Peter was a Portfolio Manager with IIU Asset Strategies for over nine years. During that time, Peter was Fund Manager to the IIU European Long/Short Fund and the IIU Breakout Managed Futures Fund.
Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Dublin City University and a master’s degree in Computer Applications, also from Dublin City University.
Shane joined ILIM in August 2006 and is a senior Alternatives Portfolio Manager
He has a BA in Mathematics from TCD, as well as master’s degrees in Quantitative Finance (UCD) and Investment & Treasury (DCU).
Prior to joining ILIM in 2006, Shane began his career in Naspa Dublin in 2003, where he worked as a credit analyst. Upon joining ILIM, Shane worked in the Quantitative Strategies team for ten years before moving to his current role in the Alternative Strategies team.
Kuda Damba joined Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) in October 2019 and is an Alternatives Manager on the Alternative Strategies team.
Prior to joining ILIM, Kuda worked for Davy on the Portfolio Construction team within the Private Clients division and as a dealer in Bank of Ireland’s Corporate & Markets division.
Kuda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin and she graduated with a first class honours Master of Science degree in Quantitative Finance from Smurfit Business School. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
Martin, as a member of the Fund Management Executive, holds overall responsibility for Property Fund Management in ILIM. He oversees the property team’s fund management, asset management and investment transacting functions.
He is a general practice chartered surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in commercial property investment. He joined Irish Life in 1990 where his work in the Property Investment area has ranged from fund and portfolio management of a number of ILIM’s Irish and UK Property Funds, to investment transacting of property investments in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.
Martin holds a BSc (Surveying) from Trinity College, Dublin and a Diploma in Property Economics from the Dublin Institute of Technology. He is a member of Society of Chartered Surveyor Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Deirdre is responsible for strategically driving asset management initiatives across the property portfolio enhancing income and capital value through a number of initiatives including leasing , major redevelopment and refurbishment projects.,
She is a general practice chartered surveyor with over 24 years’ experience in commercial property Prior to joining Irish Life, Deirdre was Managing Director of Aramark property and a board member of Aramark Northern Europe where she was responsible for the management and development of the business, enhancing service delivery and driving change strategies. Prior to joining Aramark, Deirdre was a founding partner of HT Meagher O Reilly (now Knight Frank )
Deirdre holds a BSc (Surveying) from Trinity College, Dublin and a Diploma in Property Economics from the Dublin Institute of Technology. She is a member of Society of Chartered Surveyor Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Brendan is responsible for the fund management of ILIM’s direct and indirect property funds on behalf of institutional and retail investors.
He joined Irish Life in 2015 and has over 20 years’ experience in asset management, fund management, fund structuring, private equity, credit, direct and indirect investment. He is former Head of Real Estate at the National Pensions Reserve Fund and Head of Origination at the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, both managed by the NTMA. He was also a Senior Manager with AIB and an Associate Director with Savills. He qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1999 with King Sturge (now JLL) in London.
Brendan holds a BSc (Estate Management) from Oxford Brookes University and is a member of Society of Chartered Surveyor Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
David is responsible for property transactions.
David is a general practice chartered surveyor with over 25 years’ experience in commercial and residential property investment. He joined Irish Life in 2007 and is responsible for sourcing new acquisitions, disposals and maximising opportunities that match the investment objectives of the Investment Management (property) business.
Prior to joining David previously served in a variety of roles in property investment business’ in the UK and Ireland including Jones Lang La Salle, DTZ and for a period in Bank lending.
David holds a BSc (Surveying) from South Bank University, London . He is an associate member of the Society of Chartered Surveyor Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Lorraine is the Fund Services Client Manager in ILIM and has worked in Irish Life for over 15 years. Joining Irish Life in 2002 Lorraine worked as part of the Operations team in Corporate Business before moving to ILIM in 2005. Lorraine has held a number of positions in ILIM including Marketing Information Manager and Client Services Manager.
In 2016 Lorraine took up the role of Fund Services Client Manager and has responsibility for ensuring the delivery of a quality service to our clients who engage ILIM to provide fund administration and asset servicing . Lorraine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies from DCU and is a Qualified Financial Advisor.
As part of the Investment Development Management team, Aoibheann is responsible for leading the Retail Investment Development Team. The team is responsible for supporting investment sales, product development and operational initiatives across a multi-channel intermediary distribution network.
Prior to joining ILIM in 2018, Aoibheann was Head of Sales & Marketing for Key Capital Investment Management, who specialise in Alternative investments. Aoibheann has held previous roles as Vice President - Senior Business Development & Relationship Management for the State Street Global Advisors, Finance & IT for Bank of Ireland Trust Services, Private Banking and Custody Services.
She holds a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. She graduated from Dublin City University with a MSc in Investment & Treasury. Aoibheann holds a BA in Economics, Postgraduate in Applied Economics, Postgraduate in Computer Science from University College Cork. She is a member of the Institute of Bankers and a QFA holder.
Gillian joined ILIM in February 2016 as part of the Retail Investment Development Team with responsibility for working with key Partners on the Irish Life Portus Platform. Gillian has over 15 years of investment management experience.
Prior to joining ILIM, Gillian spent 11 years in London with the boutique asset management firm J O Hambro Capital Management. Before that Gillian spent 2 years with Invesco Perpetual in their Dublin office.
Gillian graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) with a BSC Honours Science degree followed by a H Dip in Business Studies from Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD. Gillian also completed the Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) qualification in 2019.
David is responsible for leading the Retail Sales team within Investment Development. This team is responsible for supporting investment sales across the 500 strong, adviser led, multi-channel distribution in Irish Life and via independent intermediaries. Specifically, David and his team are responsible for devising and executing the strategy to support investment sales.
David joined ILIM in 2012 and has 20 years of investment experience. He was previously a Director of Institutional Equities in Davy Stockbrokers for over 13 years, managing a client list of hedge fund investors and asset managers in Europe, the UK, Ireland and North America.
He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin where he read Business and Economics (BBS MA), is a registered stockbroker (RS) and also a qualified financial adviser (QFA). He is currently undertaking an MSc in Financial Services in UCD Smurfit.
Michael is an Investment manager with Irish Life Investment Managers and has over 20 years experience in the Investment Management business. He started his career at MFS Investment Management in Boston in 1995 and worked in a variety of investment roles there. Michael has also held roles in KBC Asset Management, Reuters and Canada Life working on both the retail and institutional investment markets.
He is currently Investment Manager for Irish Life and is responsible for the distribution of their investment products in the Irish financial adviser market. Michael holds a Masters and BA from University College Dublin and the Smurfit Business School as well as being a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and QFA.
Cian O’Mahony is an Investment Manager with Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) and has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Having started his career in retail banking, he went on to work in brokerage and derivatives trading before spending the past 7 years in investment management, servicing investors across Europe and the Nordics, focusing on the Irish market upon joining ILIM in 2016.
A graduate of Dublin Business School, Cian holds a Master of Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, a Master of Science in Financial Services and Graduate Diploma from UCD. He also has professional qualifications, which include the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA), Registered Stockbroker (RS) and MSTA from the Society of Technical Analysts.
Rebecca Fox joined ILIM in 2014 helping to set up the new Retail Investment Development Team, responsible for supporting the diverse operational and sales support needs of the Retail distribution channels across a diverse product and fund suite. She is now working with the wider Distribution team, managing key projects and delivering operational efficiencies across the Institutional, International and Retail business divisions.
Prior to joining ILIM, Rebecca spent 10 years in Irish Life Financial Services, holding various roles across Retail within Business Development, Brokerage and Underwriting.
Rebecca is a Qualified Financial Advisor.
Kevin provides support for the development of ILIM’s international business and supporting our ongoing client relationships. Kevin supports the delivery of the full breadth of our services to our international client base.
Kevin joined ILIM in 2016. Prior to that he built up ten years’ experience in domestic retail insurance industry, providing financial advice to clients on insurance, pensions, and investments.
Kevin holds an honours degree in Public Administration from University of Limerick. Kevin is a Qualified Financial Adviser and Retirement Planning Adviser. He also holds the designation Fellowship of the LIA.
As a member of the Quantitative Strategies Group, Alan is responsible for development projects involving the teams systematic investment strategies with focus on High Yield Equity.
Alan has over 10 years of investment experience at tier 1 institutions. Prior to joining ILIM, he worked in the proprietary trading group of Credit Suisse AG, where he was Portfolio Manager responsible for arbitrage strategies. Alan started his career at UBS AG where he completed the graduate training program and worked on the trading floor as an Equity Trader managing a client and proprietary trading book.
Alan has an MSc in Finance from Warwick Business School, and a BSc in Economics & Finance from University College Dublin. Alan holds the Chartered Financial Analyst( CFA) designation.
Jack joined ILIM in 2018 and is a quantitative portfolio manager within the Quantitative Strategies Group.
Prior to joining ILIM, Jack worked for RPMI Railpen in London where he was responsible for strategic asset allocation and investment modelling across a range of multi-asset funds.
Jack holds a BA Economics from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc Finance from Warwick Business School. He is a CFA charterholder.
Kathy is a senior Sustainable Investment Specialist and highly experienced in the integration of environmental, social and governance factors (ESG) in investment solutions. Kathy joined the fund management team at Irish Life from Aviva Investors, where she was a Senior ESG Product Strategist with responsibility for ESG integration across asset classes. She led on Aviva’s new product development in ESG and the development of an internal ESG proprietary score using AI resources. She developed an ESG and Climate strategy for Aviva Life and rolled out the ESG integration policy across investment desks.
Prior to Aviva, Kathy was Executive Director at an independent sustainable consultancy, Global Green Investments, where she worked with Development Finance Institutions, NGOs, policy makers and Institutional Investors on sustainable fund structuring and climate risk methodologies. . She worked with the Worldbank, where she helped structure fund solutions to attract private capital for utility scale renewable energy projects. She provided thought leadership on Green Bond development to the European Commission and worked with Carbon Tracker and the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), in the development of a climate risk methodology to assess the financial risk of the energy transition in the fossil fuel sector
Duncan joined Irish Life in 2020 and is responsible for the development and management of the Irish Residential Property Fund. IRPF is Ireland’s only open ended residential property fund offering investors access to an institutionally operated vehicle that buys and manages income producing residential property in Ireland.
He is a general practice chartered surveyor with over 27 years’ experience in residential and commercial property in Dublin and London. Prior to joining Irish Life, Duncan was the Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets of Lisney, Ireland’s largest independent property agency firm with 140 people across nine offices. Prior to that he worked with CBRE in its City of London office in the UK.
Duncan holds a BSc (Estate Management) from the University of Greenwich, London and a Diploma in Auctioneering, Valuation & Estate Agency from the Dublin Institute of Technology. He is a member of Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He completed the Leading Professional Services Firms executive education course at the Harvard Business School in 2016.
Leonie joined ILIM in 2020 and is a Senior Multi Asset Portfolio Manager in the Portfolio Solutions team.
Prior to joining ILIM, Leonie worked for IBM in their in-house asset management team covering the non-US pension plans. This covered strategic asset allocation, manager selection and portfolio management of a number of pension plans and in-house funds. Before this Leonie worked with Davy in their Private Clients business and spent a number of years as an investment consultant with Willis Towers Watson.
Leonie earned a B.A. Honours degree from Trinity College Dublin in Economics and Philosophy, a Masters in Finance from Cass Business School London and is a CFA charterholder.
Neil joined ILIM as Chief Financial Officer in 2020.
Neil has over 25 years’ experience across financial services and has held a variety of senior finance roles covering asset management, banking and asset servicing. He joined ILIM from Bank of Ireland Group where he was Director of Group Finance. Previous roles within Bank of Ireland included CFO for the Irish Retail Division and Head of Finance for Bank of Ireland Asset Management.
Neil is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds a BSc in Management.
Rory is a fund manager on the index equity team in ILIM. Prior to this he worked as an investment manager with Legal & General Investment Management, as an equity portfolio manager with KBC Asset Management, and as an investment manager with Davy. Rory has a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from University College Dublin and is a CFA Charterholder.
Maurice is part of ILIM's Indexed Fund Management team, responsible for managing a range of indexed equity funds.
Maurice was previously a senior investment manager at Legal & General Investment Management and an equity portfolio manager at Amundi, formerly Pioneer Investments. He also holds an adjunct lecturer position at TCD Business School.
Maurice graduated from UCC in 2006 with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and also has an MSc in Financial Economics.
Sarah joined ILIM in 2020 as a Quantitative Analyst Specialist within the Quantitative Strategies Group. As a member of the Portfolio Solutions team, Sarah is responsible for modelling portfolios for our clients across all distribution platforms.
Prior to joining ILIM, Sarah graduated with a first class honours Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Mathematics from University College Dublin.
Thais joined ILIM in 2020 as an ESG Specialist in the Responsible Investment team.
Prior to joining ILIM, Thais worked on the corporate sustainability agenda for five years, mainly in the topics of climate change, natural capital and sustainable finance. Thais worked at the Center for Sustainability Studies at Getulio Vargas Foundation, a Think Tank in Brazil, as part of the teams of the Sustainable Finance Program, the Trends in Ecosystem Services Business Initiative, and the Business for Climate Platform. Building on her previous experiences, Thais received a scholarship from the Government of Ireland to undertake a postgraduate course, investigating business strategies on climate change. She has also worked as a sustainability consultant on projects about life cycle assessment, water risk management and climate change adaptation.
Thais holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Environmental Management from the University of Sao Paulo and a Master of Science degree in Climate Change from Maynooth University.
Juan Pablo joined ILIM in 2020 as an ESG Specialist within the Responsible Investment team.
Prior to joining ILIM, Juan Pablo worked for Anheuser-Busch InBev in the Sustainability & Procurement team overseeing a glass waste management project, as well as working for the People department. He has also done research on Energy Economics and worked as a part-time lecturer for NUI Galway, as an editor and analyst for a Mexican media start-up and has experience in a range of Sustainability initiatives related to renewable energy, agriculture and recycling in Mexico.
Juan Pablo holds a Bachelor in International Business from Universidad Anahuac Mexico and graduated with a first class honours MSc degree in Global Environmental Economics at NUI Galway.
Conor is part of the Fixed Income team in ILIM, responsible for managing a range of active and passive fixed income funds as well as working on investment strategy and asset allocation. Conor joined ILIM in 2020 having previously held an actuarial role in Irish Life Assurance.
Conor is a graduate in Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences from University College Cork, a member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ Student Consultative Forum.
Cliodhna Ferris is the Strategic HR Business Partner supporting ILIM, Setanta and Canada Life Asset Management. In her role she has joined the Executive Management teams for these businesses.
Prior to joining, Cliodhna gained extensive experience across financial services, both domestically and internationally, having held a variety of senior HR roles in Brewin Dolphin, Investec, and Bank of Ireland.
Cliodhna is CIPD and tax qualified having started her career as a tax consultant with Deloitte.
